Contemplative Scripture Retreats

What Makes a Contemplative Scripture Retreat Different?

At the heart of a Contemplative Scripture Retreat is the invitation to experience, ask questions, and dwell in deeply in one biblical book at a time through reading and individual and group practices. Each CSR is unique to your group and context, but is best experienced in nature, gathered around the table for meals, filled with laughter, meaningful conversation, curiosity, and creativity. I help you create this experience. Participants are always invited, never pressured, leaving them to discover the Spirit already at work in their life.

As your retreat guide, I

  • collaborate with you to meet the specific needs for your context and group size.

  • provide all needed materials for your group.

  • engage in learning alongside you, guiding the flow of the weekend, discussions, and the invitation to participate

  • act as neither your teacher nor lecturer, but encourage the process of seeing, engaging imagination, asking questions in freedom, and creating space to listen and be heard, This allows you to not only discover the message fresh for yourself each time, but to recognize patterns of reading Scripture that can be shared with others in your own context.

Come, listen deeply to the Word humming in each one of us.
