What is Spiritual Direction?

When we long for the hiddenness of God to be revealed but cannot quite hear or see how our ordinary lives are framed by the sacred on our own, we listen together.

Spiritual Direction is:

an intentional conversation centered around becoming attuned to the presence of God.
noticing and examining God's ongoing action in our lives.
a non-judgmental space for your story to be heard
Making room for God's language of grace.
a place for asking the deep soul questions we carry
a time to reflect on the ordinariness of our lives interwoven with the sacred.

Spiritual Direction is not:

being directed on how to live your spiritual life.
engaging in therapy, counseling, or life coaching. Although similar concerns may be brought to a therapist or life coach, the role of spiritual direction is to prayerfully discern the Holy Spirit's presence from within your circumstances and experiences. Some matters may be redirected toward professonial counseling, if necessary.

The Details

Frequency | Regular sessions are 50-minutes monthly via Zoom or in-person at my home in White Bear Lake, MN..

Getting Started | We begin with an initial 45-minute "meet and greet" in which we discuss:

Challenges, questions, and hopes for exploration
Details and guidelines for spiritual direction
Any initial questions you may have about me or what you may expect from spiritual direction sessions

Following the initial meet and greet, if you would like to continue, we will meet for a three month period of discernment to determine if this fit in spiritual direction is a good fit.

Confidentiality | All things are held in strict confidence, except items of mandated reporting (abuse, or threat to self/others).

Fees | $100/per session. As this is a ministry, directees are asked to pay what they are able, ensuring those who are not able to pay the full amount may still receive services.
